Your PFC would like to welcome back the GATOR GALLOP, celebrating our Gold Ribbon Status this year.
We are looking to raise more than we did last year! For those of you that are not familiar with this
FUNdraiser – this is John Green’s primary fundraiser for the year! It is an “elementary” age-appropriate
event that involves the students and promotes physical fitness. Proceeds from this event fund
programs like Art in Action, Field Trips, your Child’s Classroom, Science programs and much more. All
donations are 100% tax deductible. This year we are teaming up with APEX to put on the event.
Your children had received their Lanyard from school on Tuesday Sept 20 from the APEX Pep Rally. On
the Pledge Kit, all students should have received their APEX login code. This is how we are going to
collect our Gator Gallop Donations this year.
IMPORTANT: This is also the only place where you will be able to select your Child’s complimentary
commemorative custom T-shirt sizes. APEX will distribute them to your Child’s classroom prior to the
event. We don't want any student to not have this special T-shirt to wear for Gator Gallop Day. Looking

also earn individual prizes from their donations provided by APEX!
On the day of the event, FRIDAY, October 7th, 2016, the students will attend a 30 minute Gator Gallop
session with the other students in their grade level. During this session, they will jog or walk as many
laps around the track as possible. The laps that the students complete during the event will be tracked
on their T-Shirts, and at the end of their session, their laps will be totaled. The students will then need
to collect the donations from their sponsors, if they haven’t already done so online. All donations need
to be turned into their classroom no later than Friday October 21st, 2016!
To make this event fun for the students, a Gator Gallop Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday
November 14th, 2016 where we will recognize top runners and fundraisers! Dr. Ventura has agreed, for
this year that if the students as a whole are able to reach our goal, she will accept a special challenge as
requested by the students! Our goal is to reach $60,000! So let’s get out there and raise some money!

getting involved and helping out, please look for the volunteer sign-up at your classroom! We are still
looking for a special volunteer to dress up as our Gator Mascot on the day of the run! (the Gator suit is

2ND AND 3RD GRADES – 8:45AM to 10AM
4TH AND 5TH GRADES – 10AM to 11:15AM
