JOHN GREEN 10th Annual GATOR GALLOP, Friday, October 7th, 2016

Your PFC would like to welcome back the GATOR GALLOP, celebrating our Gold Ribbon Status this year.

We are looking to raise more than we did last year! For those of you that are not familiar with this

FUNdraiser – this is John Green’s primary fundraiser for the year! It is an “elementary” age-appropriate

event that involves the students and promotes physical fitness. Proceeds from this event fund

programs like Art in Action, Field Trips, your Child’s Classroom, Science programs and much more. All

donations are 100% tax deductible. This year we are teaming up with APEX to put on the event.

Your children had received their Lanyard from school on Tuesday Sept 20 from the APEX Pep Rally. On

the Pledge Kit, all students should have received their APEX login code. This is how we are going to

collect our Gator Gallop Donations this year.

IMPORTANT: This is also the only place where you will be able to select your Child’s complimentary

commemorative custom T-shirt sizes. APEX will distribute them to your Child’s classroom prior to the

event. We don't want any student to not have this special T-shirt to wear for Gator Gallop Day. Looking

forward to an exciting event. Please login as soon as possible as each classroom earn points for just

signing in and sharing your page with others via email or Facebook. Don't forget to Donate! Students

also earn individual prizes from their donations provided by APEX!

On the day of the event, FRIDAY, October 7th, 2016, the students will attend a 30 minute Gator Gallop

session with the other students in their grade level. During this session, they will jog or walk as many

laps around the track as possible. The laps that the students complete during the event will be tracked

on their T-Shirts, and at the end of their session, their laps will be totaled. The students will then need

to collect the donations from their sponsors, if they haven’t already done so online. All donations need

to be turned into their classroom no later than Friday October 21st, 2016!

To make this event fun for the students, a Gator Gallop Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday

November 14th, 2016 where we will recognize top runners and fundraisers! Dr. Ventura has agreed, for

this year that if the students as a whole are able to reach our goal, she will accept a special challenge as

requested by the students! Our goal is to reach $60,000! So let’s get out there and raise some money!

Feel free to come watch the festivities during your child’s Gator Gallop session! If you are interested in

getting involved and helping out, please look for the volunteer sign-up at your classroom! We are still

looking for a special volunteer to dress up as our Gator Mascot on the day of the run! (the Gator suit is

provided). Sign up to volunteer at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4ca4a823a3f85-volunteer1

GATOR GALLOP - APEX PEP RALLY

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are so excited to tell you about the Apex Fun Run event that
will be at our school for the next two weeks in preparation for our Gator
Gallop. The Apex program teaches leadership and fitness to our students who are raising pledges for the Apex Fun Run/Gator Gallop on Friday, October 7th.

This year's character theme is Apex Legends, where students will follow Tikes, Seeds, Specs, Jazz, and Wheels through the pages of their legendary adventure to discover JJ Cortez’s hidden treasure. Along the way these five friends discover what it truly means to be a Legendary leader:

- Learn
- Engage
- Give
- Empower
- Never Quit
- Do

Students are raising pledges for the laps they run (between 26 and 36, 36-lap max). Each lap is 1/16th of a mile. For instance, $1 per lap means $30 dollars total pledged if the student runs 30 laps.  Our class has a goal of reaching $3
per lap for each student, or $90 simple donations.

Funds raised go to our school to pay for activities like Family Art Night, programs like Soul Shoppe, classroom materials, and much more. Thank you PFC for supporting our students.

Please help us reach our goal by talking to family and friends about pledging for your student(s). A great way to do this is to use the “Share Wizard” found on your students pledge page. It is really easy. The Share Wizard is an awesome tool that allows you to send texts, emails and share posts on Facebook and Twitter to help your child get sponsors for the fun run.

Today your student is bringing home his or her pledge card. It includes your student’s access code to collect pledges. If you need your student’s access code to login at www.apexfunrun.com, please contact me. We hope to see you at the Gator Gallop/Fun Run on October 7th.

Sincerely,
Lorianne R. Ventura, Ed.D.
Principal
